✍️Blog Content

Hifive's Guide to Creating Engaging Content: A Step-by-Step Process utilizing tools like Slack, Trello, ChatGPT, Grammarly, and HubSpot.

As a content writer for Hifive, below is the process for generating content for Hifive.

Step 1: Trello Notification in Slack

Your work begins in the #Hifive_content channel on Slack, where you'll be alerted of a new Trello card in the "Blog Posts - To Start" list. This card contains the title and relevant details (i.e. keywords and description) for your upcoming blog post.

The title, keywords, and description have been researched by the Hifive team and score high with SEO, so please don't alter them.

Step 2: Moving the Trello Card

Once ready to work on the post, move the card from the "Blog Posts - To Start" list to the "In Progress" list. This simple action keeps the team updated on the status of all content pieces and ensures a smooth workflow.

Step 3: Crafting the Post with ChatGPT

With the details from the Trello card, it's time to create the post using ChatGPT. When crafting your prompt, specify that you're aiming for a post over 1,000 words, with a casual tone and a punchy style characterized by short sentences. ChatGPT's advanced capabilities make it a powerful tool for efficiently generating high-quality, engaging content. Check out SnackPrompt for prompt creation.

Step 4: Perfecting Grammar with Grammarly

After generating your draft with ChatGPT, please copy and paste it into Grammarly to refine your work. Grammarly's algorithm will help you correct spelling errors and fine-tune punctuation, ensuring your post is polished.

Keep in mind, ChatGPT and Grammarly will only get you 65-70% of the way there-- you need to manually put in the work to ensure the blog post is compelling and high quality.

Step 5: Publishing with HubSpot

Now, take your perfected content to HubSpot:

  • Navigate to the "Marketing" tab, select "Website," then "Blog," and click "Create" to start a new blog post.

  • Enter the post title and paste your content. Adjust the body text to 18px and set paragraph headers to "heading 2" at 24px, keeping paragraph spacing minimal for a clean, reader-friendly layout.

Step 6: Meta Description and Author Selection

Craft a compelling meta description, no longer than 155 characters, to summarize your post enticingly. Then, select an author for the post; feel free to choose randomly from the options provided.

Step 7: The Visuals

A captivating blog post image can significantly increase reader engagement. Create a unique image using Dalle, ensuring it resonates with your post's theme. Edit the image with a solid background color (#39273C) and remove the background for a sleek look. Title your image with a catchy one to three words, download it as a PNG (600x350px), and add it to your HubSpot blog post. A GIF can be a bonus for attracting attention! Step 8: Going Live

With everything set, you're now ready to publish your post. Once live, update the Trello card with the post link and move the card to the "Approved-Published" column.

Step 9: Social Promotion

The owners of Hifive will @mention you in a comment in Trello, this is an indication for you that it's time to create scheduled social posts. Within HubSpot, navigate to the β€œMarketing” tab, select β€œsocial,” and add post details for LinkedIn and Twitter (the post details can be found on the Trello card). Once you've scheduled the post, please move the Trello card from "Approved" to "Scheduled on social."

That's it!
